In the run up to Freshers Fortnight kicking off, we thought it would be helpful for Central students to have the opportunity to get to know the SU team for this year. We've conducted some quick interviews to give you a brief idea of who each officer is, what they're like and what they're looking forward to when we begin in September- we hope you enjoy getting to know us!

Course: 2nd year Drama, Applied Theatre and Education ( Writing for Performance pathway)
If you could be any animal, what would it be?
M: Does a unicorn count???
C: A bird of paradise. Such pretty colours!
If you could eat any meal right now what would it be?
M: Cheesy chips and gravy- I'm a northern girl through and through!
C: As I am answering this, a Katsu curry
What is your favourite society at Central SU?
M: Show choir- they sound amazing!
C: Show Choir! I’m a musical nerd at heart
Why did you decide to run for this position?
M: I ran for my position because I want to help people feel safe, comfortable and liberated at Central in the same way that the SU helped me
C: Over the year leading up to campaigning, I found myself feeling more and more passionate about topics and issues involving Gender and Sexuality and started to have an itch to get my voice heard, for other voices to be heard
Which freshers event can you not wait for?
M: I'm a huge fan of the silent disco!
C: Silent disco. It’s such a good laugh!

Women's, Welfare and Campaigns
What is your overall aim for the coming year?
To create conversations within the community at Central and beyond that aim to be not only inclusive but educational. We believe that the first step towards equality and a safe environment for LGBTQ+ people is education and the first step to education is communication. We look forward to lots of interesting conversations with people this year
